Mountain View Motel

This was a good stay. The check in went smoothly, friendly people. The place looks a little rough, but it's clear that the owners are committed to upgrading it. The room was very comfortable. The bathroom was new and very up to date! The kitchen area also boasted new items and was very clean and up to date. The other furniture was functional, but needed updating. The bed, also was very comfortable! We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

Stayed for the first time. Very reasonably priced. Rooms are big, bright and clean! Staff are friendly. Unit came with fridge, stove,microwave and dishes! Will definately stay again!

After riding from Watson Lake (worst room ever) to here in one day, I was cold and tired and stopped here as it looked ok from the road. Pleasantly, extremely surprised at the quality and value. First floor parking right in front, freshly renovated, work table, kitchen, heater worked, everything great. I think the lovely young woman at the desk gave me a deal, too. Best room in two weeks of travel and a great deal for Smithers in busy season. Keep up the good work! I rarely leave reviews but you guys deserve a good one. Will stay again.

Homey and comfortable little suite, nice pet-friendly walking trails very close by. Would definitely stay here to avoid out-of-town horrible family members again lol.

Do not judge a a book by its cover. This place is a little hidden treasure. The view of the mountains are amazing. I stayed in a newly renovated room, so the room has new kitchen appliances, plates, utensils and cooking utensils. The newly renovated bathroom has a touch-sensitive mirror for lighting and anti-fog. Additionally, the front desk was gracious enough to let me use a vacuum to clean out my kid’s car seats after a long road trip. Strongly recommend this motel.

I'm really impressed with this motel. The rooms were exceptionally clean and updated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. If I'm ever in Smithers again, I would definitely stay at mountain view again. I highly recommend checking it out

As other reviewers have stated, don't let the slightly older exterior fool you. This place is great! The rooms have been renovated and are very spacious. Kitchenette with a full fridge and freezer combo, stove, sink, microwave, coffee maker. Even a great little bistro-style kitchen table with 2 chairs. Tammy was very friendly and welcoming. She noticed we had a long flat deck trailer hooked up to our truck and offered us to leave it conveniently parked where we already had it along the side of the building to save us the hassle of getting it parked elsewhere. VERY appreciated as it was -30 outside. We had 2 big dogs with us which was absolutely no problem at all (they actually made friends with other dogs staying there). Theres only a few things I'd suggest for constructive criticism; an extra toilet paper roll and extra garbage bags stored in the bathroom would be appreciated, as well as coffee filters and coffee to go with the coffee maker and sweeteners provided. But that's it! So very, very minimal overall and what I'd consider "nitpicking". Thanks so much for the great stay!

The rooms were clean and comfortable. Location was right off the main road. However no discernable road noise. And Ray, the gentleman who checked us in was very helpful, courteous and a pleasure to deal with.

What we loved: The room was very spacious even with a kitchen + dinner table, and came with a balcony offering a nice view! :) What could be better: Unfortunately, the cleanliness wasn’t quite up to standard. The chairs were really dirty (we didn’t feel comfortable using them without something to cover them), and the floor could’ve used a better clean. If the room had been properly cleaned, we’d happily have rated it 5 stars. That said, we did see one of the cleaning staff in action and she seemed thorough and committed - so it might’ve just been a one-off with our room. Final thoughts: Great value for the price, nice location, and the team was friendly. Overall, a good stay!

We will definitely stay here again. The lady that checked us in was pleasant, right away she offered us 2 king size rooms. We got into our rooms & I was shocked. This place was CLEAN! Brand new renos, very comfy bed, huge tub. If I had to say anything, I ran out of hot water & they need to clean the coffee pot. Otherwise, it had a kitchen, full sized fridge, stove & microwave. For the cost of hotels in the area, this one was worth the $158. Also, it's pet friendly.
